Our Charity

Our charity community centre S.T.A.R.S Community Creations is a non-profit community centre who produce items for sale, and provide quality, valued day activities and work related opportunities in our community centre for people with learning disabilities and/or mental health issues. Our aim is to help people achieve their individual outcomes and gain the skills for work and independent living. Providing respite for families, whilst providing social opportunities for individuals.

Referrals to S.T.A.R.S can be made by individuals, families and health care professionals. Please contact us to fill out a referral form and/or come to the centre for a visit. We strive to make our community centre a familiar and friendly place, a home from home. To achieve this, we encourage you to come in and talk to us, so that we can identify personal wishes and needs.

Services Offered:​​​

  • Meaningful day activities, including arts and crafts, jewellery making, screen printing, laser printing, table top games, music and singing, movement, computer skills, etc. (please see our timetable)
  • Work related opportunities (these can be linked to training and qualifications)
  • Opportunities for social interaction and increased well being
  • Opportunities to try new skills
  • Information and advice from visiting speakers
  • Use of our digital IT suite
  • Opportunities to be part of Leonard Cheshire Disability’s Can Do project. Supporting people through work related opportunities into voluntary or paid employment.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10am – 3pm

S.T.A.R.S Community Creations is a registered charity and all proceeds from attendance fees and sales of products made by our social enterprise go towards keeping the centre running.
